Stories our mind makes up

Ask your mind to stop thinking for a bit? At the precise moment, innumerable thoughts will come up to keep you engaged. Well, this is the nature of our mind.

Mind is the master.

Majority of us identify ourselves as our mind. What we lack to realize is that mind has It’s own identity. Just as our body is a tool to hold our soul, our mind is a tool to navigate this world.

Think outside the box.

Our mind offers solutions, analyses situations based on past experiences. We are thus trapped in our past patterns thinking, “Why does it always happens this way?”. Little do we realize that our mind is letting the past rule us and we are unable to fathom new ideas and solutions.

Everything is logical.

Our mind adds logic to everything based on the limited knowledge it has. We stick to it because we are afraid of the unknown. We fail to recognize that we are just a spec in the universe and there is so much that we don’t understand.

Losing our mind.

Our mind is afraid to lose it’s superior position. Whenever in panic, it makes up random stories and situations to draw our attention. Notice how many baseless worries and thoughts run through our mind in a day. Count the times where your mind was actually in the present moment without thinking of the past or the future.

When used right, our mind is a powerful tool. They key is to become it’s master. This takes a lot of practice and awareness since we have been conditioned to give our mind priority. It’s a journey in itself. But unless you start, you will never achieve!

“What a liberation to realize that the “voice in my head” is not who I am. Who am I then? The one who sees that.”

A Letter For Me!

I found a letter, a letter for me,
It said open, with a huge smiley!
It talked of things all gee,
Of how strong I am,
And how wonderful I can be!

Woven with love and care,
Each letter looked like a dream;
The words of a lover,
So soothing and so carefree!

It spoke of love and loss,
And yet gave endless hope;
Positives vibes only,
Said that bold note.

It brought my dreams to life,
And all the words enforced –
To live in the moment,
And be thankful, of course!

And thus I found the letter,
To be read every morning
In the hours wee,
Reminding of my strengths;
Addressed to me by me!

Stop Judging…. Yourself!

“Oh, it’s not really his fault”, “It’s ok buddy no worries” or “That’s alright. I completely understand why you did what you did”.

We all have said this to a lot of people. We all have forgiven other people for their mistakes, for the hurt that they have caused us. We always give other people a second chance, no matter how badly they screw up.

“Hey, you are strong enough to face this!”, “It wasn’t really your fault” or “Don’t beat yourself up so much.”

We always give such encouraging advice to others. We always try to boost their morale. We always try to make people see that they aren’t really as bad as they think they are!

But what happens to all these talks when it come to ourselves?

“Oh, I am not really that person!”, “How could I have ever done/said that?” or “I can never forgive myself for this!”

How many of us hold on to our own mistakes? How many of us still ponder on all the wrongs we think we have done? How many of us still beat ourselves every waking hour thinking we are no good?

Wake up! It’s time!

It’s time to stop beating ourselves up. It’s ok if in past we couldn’t meet the standards of who we think we are. It’s ok if we messed things us. Stop judging yourself.

Only God is perfect. And you are only Human! You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to mess up things. This is how you learn!

The important thing is “what next?”. The important thing is to focus on what’s coming. Remember, the present-you is the result of what you did in the past. So the future-you will be what you do now!

So, stop running back to the mistakes and criticizing yourself. It’s time to take the corrective actions. To make the real difference.

Start by forgiving yourself, accepting yourself for who you are – this will make you feel so much light and remove all the guilt that you have been carrying around. It is the first step for changing yourself for the better. Own up your mistakes. Learn from them. Be proud of them.

Take care of your self. Take time out for things that makes you happy. Make yourself the priority. Learn to say no. Start talking to yourself, forgiving yourself and encouraging yourself like you do for others.

Put yourself first! It’s not mean. It’s not selfish. It’s called self-love. And it is the single most important thing you should really invest in. This is how you heal. And healing is necessary!

Remember, if judging others is offensive, then judging yourself is downright criminal!

Now is the time!

Now is the time to be
Now is the time to do
Now is the time to sow
Now is the time to grow

Thoughts make you travel in time
Remembering memories sweet and divine
And to the unseen future of possibilities
Yet now is the only opportunity!

Minutes pass by unaware
And in our thoughts, we dwell
Wishing for something not there
Throwing away what is, in hell

Give now your complete focus
It is no sort of hocus pocus
Just use your present well
And no regrets you will tell

Now is the time to live
Now is the time to give
Now is the power you have
Now is the time to act!

When life hits you!

Some people are hurt with others,
Others are hurt with life itself;
When life hits you hard on your head,
Everyone around you is responsible for that!

Someone’s good intention is seen as bad,
To suit the situation in your head;
When life hits you hard on your head,
Everyone around you is responsible for that!

All the good things suddenly seem sad,
The reality seems running away from our grasps;
It makes us so focused on ourselves,
We forget to see the people who try to help!

Little do we realize that this is life itself,
Ups and downs – yes, we have to stand again;
Fight the fear and grab that outstretched hand,
After all, everyone has to die in the end!

So let’s not be hurt with others,
And let not be hurt with life itself;
When life hits you hard on your head,
Remember, someone is standing with an outstretched hand!

The Lost Kid

We are all kids inside wrapped in a veil
Of maturities and responsibilities
Not to be judged and looked upon,
Appreciated and accepted we need to feel!

Oh! Mistakes! – I should not make any,
And failures – there shouldn’t be many.
Do people like me? Do I look good?
Be accepted – oh I simply should!

All the gossip groups and talks,
I have to definitely be a part of!
But wait! Let me wrap myself first
With my ego – let’s settle that thirst!

Yes, I have been hurt and played with,
And boundaries and walls I have built around,
Trespassers will be prosecuted,
This is no longer a myth!

My past experiences define me now,
Oh, I am afraid to open up anymore;
I really can’t let go of it,
I just don’t know how!

The playful kid that resides inside,
Has been shoved aside and forgotten,
The one who was open to new things,
Sits in the corner feeling rotten!

The Light Within!

Quote by Rumi

We are stars wrapped in the skin,
The light we are seeking has always been;
The pain we feel comes from within,
Yet responsible is an external thing.

We are the waves that keep wandering,
Aimless and random out in the ocean large;
Finding our own sun out in the world,
Unaware of the star that we are!

Making our own set of rules to live by,
What a petty thing in front of the universe vast;
Engrossed in our own little world,
Limiting ourselves from the experiences last.

Little do we realize that the universe resides within,
It is me and I am it!
No boundaries can define me,
I am limitless as it is!

Listen to the calling of the inner star,
It’s Polaris – you personal North star;
The guide you are always seeking,
For the heart that’s always weeping!
